Six Nations Rugby
Six Nations Rugby is the eldest rugby championship in the world. It was started in 1882! It was originally held for four different United Kindom countries. The countries that held this event were, England,Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. France finally joined in 1910 and Italy joined in 2000. This is why they get the unique name, Six Nations. The rules for the game
The rules for the game is very simple and straight forward. Each team in the Six Nations, plays each other once in a season. The home advantage alternates in seasons. Its 15 matches per championship. Whoever has the most points through out the season,wins the trophy. Two points are awarded in a win, while 1 point is awarded in a draw. If a team wins all five of their matches,they are awarded and honored by the name Grand Slam winners.
In the near future
Next year in 2013, the games will be played in the following staduims. The first stadium they will play at will be England,France,Wales,Italy,Scotland,Ireland. In June 2012,FFR announced that they will be building a new stadium. The capticity that it will seat, will be 82,000. The stadium new features will be, a retractable roof and slide our pitch. It will be built 25 milies km south of Paris. The cost for this staduim is estimated to be over 600 million. This staduim will open in 2017. Television coverage for the games are available on the BBC various platforms in the United Kindom.
Purchasing tickets
For these types of games,you have to purchase your tickets through a Union. Tickets are controlled by the host Union in each match. They have limited tickets. You just have to contact them and make sure they have avilable tickets.
