When faced with adversity, it isn’t uncommon for many to fold under pressure and give in to the hardships. But Newark, NJ native Brazy Boy, also known and respected by his peers as King Brazy, is anything but common! As a kid growing up on Quitman St, Brazy Boy was introduced to the art of rhyming, a skill that would later progress as time proceeded. The time most young boys his age spent tree climbing and exploring the world around them, Brazy would trail after his older brother, Naeem, to attempt to mirror his lyrical flow. He’d study extensively the music that the industry dropped and saw none of it as being a threat to his own abilities. Instead, his only competition was his brother Na, respected as “Na Blood. Some years later, as an unexpected, yet well-deserved Christmas gift from his mother, Brazy was gifted a Karaoke Machine. Some may see this as being minor; however, this had been a gift he knew his mother couldn’t afford since she was raising five boys on her own. So once he’d seen how hard his mother had worked for him, from that point on, he dedicated himself to music, vowing to always work just as hard for her. From that point on, Brazy Boy has been grinding continuously never stopping for even the shortest of breaks. After perfecting his skills, Brazy then released his first mixtape with his brother, Na Blood entitled “Welcome 2 Murdaville” which dropped in 2005. This would be the opening mark for putting his city on the map and gaining their respect! Having received so much love and support from his city, Brazy then went on to strategically outline his next takeover. In early July of 2008, Brazy Boy released his first solo project, “Welcome 2 Da Jungle.” Having been inspired by the houses he was raised in on Quitman Street, this mixtape would be the earliest formation of the brand in which he was creating. On April 20, 2011, he dropped his second solo mixtape, “iLive Dat Jungle Life” which gives a little more insight to who exactly Brazy Boy is and mentions some of his most challenging obstacles. Just a few months later, November 30, 2011 to be exact, Brazy dropped his third solo mixtape of the year, “In The Land of Korruption.” Between the creations of his mixtapes, he has successfully generated a functioning fan base, #TeamBrazy, which spreads across several different countries. Not only that, but under the guidance of Ryan Blake, the Head Director of Secret Society Motion Picture, Brazy acted as his assistant director and is now directing videos on his own.
